To help provide a total cost inclusive of tax, our system may authorize the highest potential sales tax amount associated with your order at the time of checkout. This initial authorization is part of the payment hold process and does not necessarily reflect the final tax charged.
Because orders are routed through our fulfillment network, the final tax applied depends on the location of the fulfilling party and the applicable tax nexus requirements associated with that shipment. Once your order is assigned for fulfillment, the tax amount is reviewed and adjusted if necessary.
If the final tax due is lower than the amount initially authorized, the difference will be removed from the order and reflected through an automated order update or partial refund notification. In some cases, this message may appear as a partial refund even though it is simply a tax adjustment based on final order routing.
No action is needed on your part. This is a normal part of the order process, and any necessary tax adjustment will be reflected automatically.
