Aquascape Algaecide is a fast-acting treatment designed to control green water (free-floating algae) and string algae (hair or blanket algae). If Algaecide isn't producing the expected results, common causes include incorrect dosage, poor water circulation, or heavy algae growth.
Why might Algaecide not be working?
- Incorrect dosage: Too little Algaecide was applied, or the pond's water volume was underestimated.
- Poor water circulation: The treatment isn't distributing evenly throughout the pond.
- Heavy algae growth: Severe algae problems may require multiple treatments.
How long does Algaecide take to work?
Aquascape Algaecide begins working shortly after application, but visible results vary depending on the severity of algae growth and pond conditions.
How can I improve Algaecide results?
- Verify your pond's water volume and follow the dosage instructions on the product label.
- Ensure vigorous aeration before applying Algaecide.
- Apply Algaecide near a waterfall, pump discharge, or aeration device to distribute it throughout the pond.
- If algae persists, repeat treatment every three days until controlled, following all product label instructions and precautions.
Note: Aquascape Algaecide is available in the United States only.
