Yes, all of the current Aquascape Ultra Pumps can have their flow reduced.
The included flow-control valves are intended to customize the flow rate. Once installed on the pump discharge, you simply adjust the valve until you reach the desired flow.
- Ultra 400, 550, and 800: include a ½" flow-control valve. (Also fits Ultra 2100/3000)
- Ultra 1100, 1500, and 2000: include a ¾" 3-way valve, with individual flow controls. (Also fits Ultra 8000)
- Restrict the discharge/outlet, not the pump intake.
- These are mag-drive pumps, so use the mechanical valve rather than an electrical dimmer or variable-speed controller. The entire Ultra 400–2000 range uses mag-drive motors.
