If your statuary pump stops working, hums without moving water, or produces weak flow, check the power supply and inspect the pump and tubing for blockages.
Before troubleshooting: Unplug the pump before handling or cleaning it. Never handle electrical cords with wet hands.
Pump does not run
- Check whether the ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) has tripped.
- Confirm the power supply matches the pump label. U.S. models require 120V AC, 60 Hz.
- Do not use an extension cord. Have a qualified electrician address electrical supply problems.
Pump has weak flow or hums without moving water
- Inspect the intake screen and tubing for obstructions.
- Remove the intake screen and impeller cover.
- Clean the impeller and internal pump chamber, removing debris wrapped around the impeller.
- Remove mineral buildup with white vinegar and a soft brush or sponge.
- Reassemble the pump and fully submerge it before restarting.
Pump still performs poorly
The impeller may need replacement. Contact your Aquascape dealer or Aquascape Support for assistance identifying the correct part or resolving continued problems.
