Aquascape fountain lights can be installed on decorative fountains to illuminate the water as it flows from the top of the feature. Installation is similar for standard white and color-changing LED fountain lights, but the electrical connections are different.
How to install the fountain light
- Turn off the power to the fountain pump and lighting system before installation.
- Connect the tubing: Attach the fountain tubing or pipe to the barbed fitting at the bottom of the fountain light. Twist the tubing gently to secure the connection.
- Position the light: Place the light at the top of the fountain so water flows through the center of the fixture.
- Route the cable: Run the electrical cable alongside the fountain tubing, keeping it protected from sharp edges or damage.
- Connect the power: Follow the appropriate instructions below for standard white or color-changing lights.
Standard white LED fountain lights
The Aquascape Fountain Light (Item #84008) produces warm white illumination and connects directly to a 12 V transformer.
- Connect the light's quick-connect fitting directly to an Aquascape 12 V Low Voltage Transformer.
- When installing multiple white lights, use an Aquascape 3-Way Quick-Connect Splitter or 6-Way Quick-Connect Splitter.
- Secure the electrical connections and ensure the transformer has sufficient wattage for all connected lights.
- Plug the transformer into a GFCI-protected electrical outlet and verify that the lights illuminate.
Note: Standard white fountain lights do not require a color-changing lighting control hub.
Color-changing LED fountain lights
The Aquascape Color-Changing Fountain Light (Item #84072) requires an Aquascape Smart Control Hub and a 12 V transformer.
- Connect the fountain light's quick-connect fitting to the Aquascape Smart Control Hub (Item #84074).
- When installing multiple color-changing lights, use the compatible 3-Way Color-Changing Light Splitter or 6-Way Color-Changing Light Splitter.
- Connect the Smart Control Hub to an Aquascape 12 V Low Voltage Transformer.
- Mount the control hub above ground in a location protected from water exposure.
- Plug the transformer into a GFCI-protected outlet.
- Use the Aquascape Smart Control App to connect to the hub and select the desired lighting color or effect.
Note: Standard white and color-changing lights use different connection systems. Use only the appropriate splitters and controls for each lighting type.
Important installation precautions
- Always disconnect electrical power before making or adjusting connections.
- Use a properly sized, outdoor-rated 12 V transformer.
- Keep electrical quick-connect fittings out of the water, even if the light fixture is submersible.
- Fully tighten all quick-connect fittings to prevent moisture from entering the connections.
- Keep the transformer and Smart Control Hub protected from water exposure.
- Protect cables from sharp rocks, abrasion, and other potential damage.
