- Determine length
- Measure length from the point where the stream originates (usually the BioFalls or other spillway) to the point where the stream spills into the pond or basin
- For streams 20’ in length or less, add 5’ to the total length of the stream for the liner size
- For streams more than 20’ in length, add 10’ to the total length of the stream for the liner size to accommodate for larger waterfalls or more twists and turns
- Round the length up to the nearest 5’ as liner is only sold in increments in 5’
- Determine width
- The minimum recommended width for a stream liner is 10’ wide to accommodate for twists and turns in the design
Metric
- Determine length

- For streams 6 meters in length or less, add 1.5 meters to the total length of the stream for the liner size
- For streams more than 6 meters in length, add 3 meters to the total length of the stream for the liner size to accommodate for larger waterfalls or more twists and turns
- Round the length up to the nearest meter as liner is primarily sold in increments of one meter
- Determine width
- The minimum recommended width for a stream liner is 3 meters wide to accommodate for twists and turns in the design
