Aquascape does not currently offer solar-powered pond pumps because we have not found a solar pump design that provides the combination of adequate water flow, reliable debris handling, energy savings, and reasonable cost needed for typical ponds and water features.
Pond pumps often need to move significant amounts of water while also operating in environments where leaves, algae, and other debris may be present. The solar panels and energy-storage equipment needed to reliably power a pump with these capabilities can also add substantial cost.
When the cost of the complete solar system is compared with the potential electrical savings, the return on investment has not made sense for the types of pumps Aquascape provides.
Instead, Aquascape focuses on developing energy-efficient pond pumps designed to provide the flow and performance required for ponds, waterfalls, and other water features while reducing electrical operating costs.
