If your Aquascape Smart Pond Dosing System Controller SL or Aquascape Smart Pond Dosing System XT Controller is not dispensing treatment properly, check the tubing, pump cartridge, motor, and power connections.
Treatment is not dispensing
- Check the treatment bottle and refill if empty.
- Inspect tubing for kinks, blockages, or loose connections.
- Remove any buildup using a soft pipe cleaner. Do not use sharp objects.
- Reconnect the tubing securely.
- Prime the system by holding the x2 dosing button for approximately 3 seconds. Allow several minutes for treatment to move through the tubing.
Motor is not spinning
Place the controller into priming mode and listen for the motor.
- Motor runs: Check for blocked tubing, loss of prime, or a worn pump cartridge.
- Motor does not run: Verify the transformer is connected and the GFCI outlet has not tripped.
If the motor runs but treatment does not dispense after cleaning and priming, the pump cartridge may need replacement.
If the motor does not operate despite receiving power, the controller may need replacement.
Treatment is leaking
- Tubing leaks: Secure loose connections or replace cracked, hardened, or damaged tubing.
- Pump cartridge leaks: Check cartridge installation and replace the cartridge if worn or damaged.
Do not attempt to repair damaged dosing tubing.
Preventive maintenance
- Inspect tubing when replacing treatments.
- Keep tubing clear of dried treatment and debris.
- Replace the pump cartridge approximately once per year.
- Do not operate the system below 40°F (4°C).
Important: Before replacing the controller, confirm that power is available, tubing is clear, the system has been primed, and the pump cartridge is functioning properly.
