The AquaBasin 45, Item #78224, supports up to 1,500 lb (680 kg) when properly installed. Keep the combined weight of fountains and decorative rock or gravel placed on the basin within this limit.
Where should heavy fountains be placed?
The AquaBasin 45 deck has two designated zones:
- Weight bearing zone: Place larger or heavier fountains here. Internal structural supports provide maximum deck strength in this area.
- Pump and plumbing zone: This area provides equipment access and can support lighter fountains, gravel, and smaller rocks.
Heavy fountains must be positioned in the weight bearing zone, even when the total load is below the basin’s maximum capacity. Correct placement helps prevent bowing or damage.

What base does the basin need?
Install the AquaBasin 45 on a smooth, flat, level, properly compacted base. Thoroughly backfill the sides with sand or dirt as directed in the manual to help prevent shifting.
