No, the control panel has a memory chip inside that will remember the last setting you used and will resume just as it did before once power is restored.
What kind of maintenance does the pump need in the Automatic Dosing System?
Ideally, replace the motor once a year to ensure maximum performance.
How do I know if the bag is empty in the Automatic Dosing System?
You'll have to manually track it. Refer to the chart on the boxes to get an idea of how long a bag should last for your size water feature.
I've been pressing the 2x button on the Automatic Dosing System for a long time and nothing is coming out.
First, check to make sure the tubing isn’t kinked and that the motor is moving (you can hear it). If the motor isn't moving, check the outlet it's plugged into to ensure it's functioning. If that doesn't work, contact Aquascape's Customer Service group for further troubleshooting.
Should the Automatic Dosing System be pulled and stored for winter?
Yes, the Automatic Dosing System should be removed from in-ground and stored in a frost-free location for the winter. You can leave just the canister portion in the ground if need-be and just remove the control panel portion.

We recommend for the first two weeks of a new treatment to use the 2x option, then switch to normal.
How do I start using the Automatic Dosing System once it's installed?
The motor of the Automatic Dosing System primes itself for about 10 seconds when first turned on. After that, press and hold the 2x button to get the liquid moving through the tubing. The first part of the tubing leading into the check valve is clear so you can see the liquid progressing. Once you see the liquid dripping out of the end of the tubing, let go pressing the 2x button. That's it!
Why use the Automatic Dosing System?
Quite simply to add the right treatments, all season long and to prevent under or over dosing that can occur with manual treatments. Also, the automatic dosing system takes all the pressure off of you the pond owner.
Can the bags be changed in the middle of a bag?
Yes, you can change the treatment based on need; we recommend re-sealing the unused product and storing in a cool dry place until needed.
Can I use the Automatic Dosing System if my pond is over 5,000 gallons?
The dosing system is recommended for ponds up to 5,000 gallons, if your pond is larger than 5,000 gallons, we recommend using multiple dosing systems.
Is the Automatic Dosing System waterproof?
The dosing system control panel and electronics are epoxy sealed to prevent damage from rain and the elements. The canister that holds the water treatment is sealed to prevent water from entering the canister.
Why does the Automatic Dosing System dose a small amount daily?
Adding small amounts of treatment often works better and is a much safer way of treating a pond/water feature. A slow gradual change has less overall impact on the ecosystem and water chemistry. Our goal with the new treatments for the Automatic Dosing System is to support and boost the ecosystem without doing damage. A traditional shock type approach can drastically and quickly change water chemistry causing stress for all inhabitants.
How often does the Automatic Dosing System treat my water feature?
The dosing system doses two times per day when set to treat the pond/water feature. If you select the 2X option on the control panel, the unit will dose four times per day.
