If you notice a decrease in performance, especially with water clarity, it’s important to inspect the UV system.
A common cause is buildup on the quartz sleeve, which surrounds the UV bulb. Mineral deposits, scale, or debris can reduce the amount of UV light penetrating the water, limiting its ability to clear green water.
We recommend:
- Inspecting the quartz sleeve at least once per season (more often in hard water conditions)
- Cleaning any buildup using a mild acid such as white vinegar or a calcium/lime remover (CLR)
- Ensuring the sleeve is clean and clear before reassembly
