The Smart Control Hub (Item #84074) is needed to operate Aquascape color-changing lights and can be controlled using the Aquascape Smart Control App or the optional Color-Changing Light Remote (Item #84073). The hub requires a 12-volt outdoor-rated transformer and adequate 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi coverage.
Before you begin
Confirm that you have:
- An outdoor-rated 12-volt transformer
- A GFCI-protected electrical outlet
- Adequate 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi coverage at the hub
- The Aquascape Smart Control App, available through the iOS or Android app store
Important: The Smart Control Hub is weather-resistant but not waterproof. Install it above the ground and protect it from the elements.
Install the Smart Control Hub
- Securely attach the included antenna to the top of the Smart Control Hub.
- Connect the color-changing light, splitter, or extension cable to the hub’s 5-pin quick-connect fitting.
- Position the transformer as close to the light fixtures as practical. Long cable runs can cause voltage loss.
- Plug the transformer into a GFCI-protected outlet.
- Connect the Smart Control Hub to the 12-volt transformer.
Each Smart Control Hub can control up to 150 watts of Aquascape color-changing lights. Multiple hubs can be used when you want to operate different light groups with different colors at the same time.
