Uneven waterfall flow can occur when debris obstructs the water's path, the water level is low, or the waterfall is not receiving consistent water circulation. This may cause water to flow more heavily on one side, create gaps in the waterfall, or reduce the amount of water flowing over the rocks.
Common causes and what to check
- Debris blocking the water flow: Check the waterfall and stream for leaves, sticks, or other debris that may be interfering with water movement. Remove any accessible debris.
- Low water level: For Pondless Waterfalls, check the water level through the inspection port on the Pondless Waterfall Vault. Add water to the reservoir if needed.
- Waterfall spillway: Inspect the Waterfall Spillway for visible debris or anything interfering with the water exiting the opening. The spillway is designed to distribute incoming water and create a smooth, consistent flow.
- Reduced pump circulation: If the entire waterfall has less water flowing than usual, the pump or plumbing may need further inspection. Follow the instructions for your specific pump model before performing maintenance.
If the water flow remains uneven
If removing debris and checking the water level do not resolve the problem, the waterfall installation may require further evaluation.
