If your Dosing System SL has no power, is not dispensing treatment, or is dosing inaccurately, follow the checks below. These instructions apply to Dosing System SL, item #96085.
Safety: Use a properly grounded, GFCI-protected outlet. Never handle power cords with wet hands. The system is weatherproof but must not be submerged.
If the system has no power
- Check whether the GFCI outlet has tripped.
- Make sure the transformer is plugged in.
- Check the power connections between the transformer, power cable, and control panel.
If the system still has no power, the manual recommends trying a replacement transformer. The listed replacement is the 6 W low-voltage transformer, item #98375.
If treatment is not moving from the bottle
Check the temperature first: The internal thermostat shuts off the dosing pump below 40°F (4°C). Do not operate the system below this temperature. During freezing weather, remove the control panel, treatment bottle, and intake assembly and store them in a frost-free location.
- Confirm that the system has power.
- Check that the internal and discharge tubing are properly connected and are not kinked. Keep the discharge end above the water level.
- Inspect the tubing for debris or treatment residue. Clean blocked tubing with a soft pipe cleaner.
- Prime the system: Hold the setting button for 3 seconds until the blue light below the setting number flashes. Treatment may take a few minutes to reach the end of the tubing.
- Listen for the pump turning during priming. If it does not turn despite the system receiving power, the control panel may need replacement. The replacement controller is item #96086.
- If the pump turns but treatment still does not flow after these checks, the pump cartridge may need replacement. Use item #40041.
Priming stops automatically when its cycle finishes. You can also press the setting button to exit priming once treatment begins discharging. Prime the system during initial setup and whenever a new treatment bottle is installed.
If the system is dosing inaccurately
Check that the control-panel setting matches your water feature size using the chart on the treatment bottle.
If the system is still pumping inaccurately, replace the pump cartridge, item #40041. The cartridge wears over time, and Aquascape recommends replacing it once each year.
