The Aquascape IonGen System begins releasing copper ions when operating, but noticeable string algae reduction may take several days to a few weeks.
The time needed to see results depends on several factors:
- Existing algae growth: Heavy string algae growth may take longer to control.
- Water chemistry: Water conditions can affect IonGen performance.
- Water flow: Proper water flow across the IonGen Probe helps distribute copper ions throughout the pond.
- Pond size: The volume of water can affect how quickly results become noticeable.
For best results, monitor string algae growth and regularly test copper levels to ensure they remain below 0.25 ppm (0.25 mg/L).
Important: Do not continually increase the IonGen setting simply to speed up results. Maintain copper levels within the recommended limit.
