Older Aquascape AquaSurge, AquaForce, and SLD Adjustable Flow Pumps can be connected to a compatible Gen. 4 Smart Pump Receiver using the appropriate conversion plug(s). The plugs required depend on the pump's generation.
Gen. 3 adjustable flow pumps
Required item:
- Male-to-Male Conversion Plug (Item #45062) — included with the Gen. 4 Smart Pump Receiver.
Connection instructions:
- Disconnect power from the pump and receiver.
- Connect the Male-to-Male Conversion Plug to the Gen. 3 pump's connection.
- Connect the other end to the Gen. 4 Smart Pump Receiver.
No additional conversion plug is required for Gen. 3 pumps.
Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 adjustable flow pumps
Required items:
- Aquascape Smart Control Conversion Plug (Item #45040) — sold separately.
- Male-to-Male Conversion Plug (Item #45062) — included with the Gen. 4 Smart Pump Receiver.
Connection instructions:
- Disconnect power from the pump and receiver.
- Connect the Smart Control Conversion Plug (Item #45040) to the pump's 3-prong connection.
- Attach the Male-to-Male Conversion Plug to the conversion plug installed in Step 2.
- Connect the other end to the Gen. 4 Smart Pump Receiver.
Both conversion plugs are required for Gen. 1 and Gen. 2 pumps.
Choosing the correct Smart Pump Receiver
The receiver must also be compatible with your pump model.
- Standard Smart Pump Receiver (Item #45064): For compatible AquaSurge, AquaForce, and SLD Adjustable Flow Pumps, excluding the SLD 5000-9000.
- Smart Pump Receiver Large (Item #45065): For the SLD 5000-9000 Adjustable Flow Pond Pump.
