If your Aquascape AquaSurge or SLD pump is completely silent when it should be running, first check the electrical power supply. A pump that makes no humming, vibrating, or operating sound may not be receiving power.
Check the power supply

Check the GFCI outlet.
- Make sure the GFCI has not tripped.
- Press the RESET button and test the pump again.

Test the outlet.
- Plug a known-working electrical device into the same outlet.
- If the device does not operate, the problem is with the power supply rather than the pump.

Check the pump connection.
- Make sure the pump is fully plugged into the outlet, controller, or receiver.
- Check for loose or disconnected connections.

Check the controller or receiver, if equipped.
- Make sure the controller or receiver has power and is turned on.
- Confirm that the pump has not been turned off through its control system.

Inspect the power cord.
- Disconnect power before inspecting the pump.
- Look for visible cuts, damage, or other problems with the cord or plug.
- Do not operate a pump with a damaged electrical cord.
If the pump is still completely silent
If you have confirmed that electrical power is reaching the pump but the AquaSurge or SLD pump remains completely silent, the pump may require further electrical diagnosis or service.

Important: If the pump can be heard humming, running, rattling, or making another sound, use the troubleshooting information for a pump that is running but not receiving or moving enough water instead.
