The filter mats inside an Aquascape BioFalls Filter should be positioned flat on top of the filter support rack, with the biological filter media bag placed above the mats.
How to position the filter mats
Install the support rack. Make sure the filter support rack is properly positioned inside the BioFalls.
Position the filter mats. Lay the filter mats flat on top of the support rack.
Place the biological filter media. If using BioBalls or other biological filter media, place the filled media bag above the filter mats.
Check the placement. Make sure the media bag is not overfilled, allowing it to spread across the mats without interfering with the upper rock tray.
Important: Keep the filter mats properly seated on the support rack rather than folded or bunched together. Correct positioning helps maintain water movement through the filtration media.
