Set the original Automatic Dosing System’s control panel to your pond’s water volume. Use the plus (+) or minus (−) buttons to select the appropriate gallon setting.
Determine your pond’s volume
If you do not know your pond’s volume, estimate it using its length, width, and average depth:
- US gallons: Length in feet × width in feet × average depth in feet × 7.48.
- Liters: Length in meters × width in meters × average depth in meters × 1,000.
Use the average depth rather than the deepest point.
Select the control-panel setting
Use the + or − buttons to select the setting for your pond’s volume. For a pond containing less than 500 US gal (1,893 L), use the 500-gallon setting. The system controls how much treatment it dispenses based on the selected setting.
For new ponds or ponds experiencing water-quality problems, the manual recommends using the X2 option for the first two weeks of operation.
