Smart Control devices need adequate 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi coverage at the device’s installed location. If your device repeatedly disconnects or appears offline in the Aquascape Smart Control App, start with these checks.
Check Wi-Fi coverage and power
- Check coverage where the device is installed. The Smart Control Hub, Smart Control Plug, Smart Pump Receiver, Smart Pond Thermometer, and Smart Pond Dosing System XT all require adequate 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi coverage. The XT manual specifically recommends a strong, stable network to prevent connection issues.
- Confirm the device is receiving power. Check the power supply and make sure the ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) protecting the outlet has not tripped.
Additional checks for your device
- Smart Control Hub: Make sure the included antenna is securely attached to the top of the hub.
- Smart Control Plug: Unplug the plug and reconnect it.
- Smart Control Hub, Smart Control Plug, and Smart Pump Receiver: The manuals also recommend resetting the wireless router when troubleshooting connection problems. Follow your router manufacturer’s instructions.
Factory-reset procedures differ by device. Follow the instructions in your specific device’s manual if a factory reset is needed.
If the disconnections continue, submit a request through the Aquascape Customer Care contact form. Include the device name, whether it loses power, and how often it disconnects.
