If your Smart Pump Receiver does not respond, first check its power supply and control switch. If the pump operates but the receiver will not connect to the Aquascape Smart Control App, check the Wi-Fi connection before assuming the receiver needs replacement.
Check power and the control switch
- Confirm the outlet is receiving power and the ground-fault circuit interrupter (GFCI) has not tripped.
- Check the receiver’s control switch:
- O — Position 1: Allows control through the Aquascape Smart Control App or remote control.
- – — Position 2: Bypasses control and runs the pump at full flow.
If the receiver is in bypass mode, move the switch to O before testing app control.
If the receiver displays an error:
- E1: Have an electrician inspect the outlet supplying the receiver.
- E2: The receiver is overheating. Make sure it is in a cool, shaded, ventilated location away from direct, intense sunlight.
If the receiver does not respond through the app
The receiver requires adequate 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi coverage at its installed location. Check that coverage and follow your router manufacturer’s instructions to reset the wireless router.
If the connection problem continues, reset and pair the receiver again:
- Disconnect the receiver from power, then reconnect it.
- Use the receiver’s power button to turn it off and confirm the LCD screen is blank.
- Press and hold the + and – buttons together for four seconds.
- Release the buttons when the LCD screen lights up completely and displays 8888.
- Open the Aquascape Smart Control App, select Add New Device, and follow the prompts.
A blinking blue light indicates the receiver is in pairing mode.
If the receiver still does not respond
A receiver may continue operating the pump even if its app connection electronics have developed a fault. A receiver that does not respond at all may also need replacement, but these symptoms require review before identifying the failed component.
Submit a request through the Aquascape Customer Care contact form. Include whether the display lights up, whether the pump operates, and what happens during the reset procedure. Mention any error message or a reset button protruding from the bottom of the receiver.
