A UV clarifier works by targeting and eliminating single-celled algae suspended in the water column, which is the primary cause of green water.
As pond water passes through the UltraKlear unit, it is exposed to ultraviolet (UV) light. This process disrupts the algae at a cellular level, allowing it to clump together so it can be removed through filtration or settle out of the water.
It is important to note that a UV clarifier is designed to control green water algae only. It will not control string algae (filamentous algae) that grows on rocks, waterfalls, or surfaces within the pond.
The result is improved water clarity and better overall pond conditions.
