Some reduction in water flow is normal when using an Aquascape UltraKlear UV Clarifier. Excessive flow reduction may be caused by clogged internal components, restricted tubing, or debris in the pond pump.
How to troubleshoot reduced water flow
- Check the pond pump. Inspect and clean the pump's intake screen or cage and impeller if debris is present.
- Inspect the tubing and fittings. Check for kinks or blockages. Use the largest practical tubing diameter, up to 1½ in. (38 mm), and remove unused smaller sections of the multi-hose adapters when using larger tubing.
- Clean the internal swirl sleeve. Disconnect power to the pump and UltraKlear UV Clarifier. Remove and inspect the internal corkscrew sleeve for debris. Clean and reassemble it according to the product's maintenance instructions.
- Restart the system. Restore power after reassembly and check whether normal water flow has returned.
If water flow is still reduced
If the problem continues after cleaning the pump, tubing, and clarifier, submit a request through our Aquascape Customer Care contact form.
Important: Always disconnect electrical power before servicing the UltraKlear UV Clarifier. Never operate the UV light while the unit is disassembled. Direct UV exposure can damage your eyes and skin.
