The Aquascape UltraKlear UV Clarifier should be shut down, drained, and protected from freezing temperatures during winter.
Winterization steps
- Disconnect electrical power to the UltraKlear.
- Shut down the pump if necessary before disconnecting the plumbing.
- Drain all water from the UltraKlear.
- Disconnect the tubing or plumbing connections.
- Remove the threaded fittings by hand when possible.
- Keep track of the flat rubber washers so they are not lost.
- Clean the unit before storage if needed.
- Store the UltraKlear in a dry, frost-free location.
Important
Do not allow water to remain inside the UltraKlear during freezing temperatures.
Frozen water can expand and damage the housing, fittings, or internal components.
