If the compressor has reduced airflow or is running hotter than normal, inspect the air inlet sponge filter.
- Turn off and unplug the compressor.
- Remove the air inlet filter or filter cover.
- Inspect the sponge for dirt, dust, or debris.
- Clean the sponge if it is reusable, or replace it if it is excessively dirty or damaged.
- Allow a cleaned filter to dry completely before reinstalling it.
- Reinstall the filter before operating the compressor.
A clogged inlet filter can reduce airflow and cause the compressor to operate hotter than normal.
