Wind, low fuel, or restricted gas flow can cause the flame to go out.
Check the Following
- Wind conditions: Moderate wind can disrupt the flame and prevent the thermocouple from staying hot. Increasing the flame setting may help in mild wind.
- High winds: Do not operate the fire feature during strong or gusting winds.
- Propane level: Refill or replace a low propane cylinder.
- Gas hose: Make sure it is not kinked, pinched, or restricted.
- Regulator: Verify it is fully and properly connected.
- Burner openings: Remove dirt, debris, spider webs, or other obstructions.
- Propane excess-flow safety device: Reset it if gas flow appears restricted.
If the Flame Still Goes Out
Check the thermocouple position and ignition system. The thermocouple must remain in the flame to keep the gas supply open.
If the fire feature continues to shut off under normal weather conditions, contact a qualified gas professional.
