The RUN/CLEAN valve on the UltraKlean 2000 and UltraKlean 3500 Pond Filters may become difficult to turn if it has not been used for an extended period.
The valve is designed to rotate only 90° (a quarter turn) between the RUN and CLEAN positions.
How to fix a stiff valve
- Turn off the pond pump before changing the valve position.
- Gently try turning the valve between the RUN and CLEAN positions.
- Do not force the handle or use tools, as this may crack or damage the valve.
- If the valve remains very stiff, the valve assembly can be removed from the filter lid for cleaning and lubrication with silicone grease.
- Reassemble the valve before restarting the pump.
