The RUN/CLEAN valve on an Aquascape UltraKlean 2000 or UltraKlean 3500 Pond Filter may become difficult to turn if it has not been operated for an extended period.
How to correct a stiff valve
- Turn off the pond pump before attempting to change valve positions.
- Try turning the valve handle gently between the RUN and CLEAN positions.
- Do not force the handle or use tools that could crack the plastic.
- If the valve remains difficult to operate, the valve assembly can be removed from the lid for cleaning and lubrication with silicone grease, following the manufacturer's maintenance instructions.
- Reassemble the valve before restarting the pump.
Preventing valve problems
Regular backwashing helps keep the RUN/CLEAN valve in use.
The UltraKlean's CLEAN indicator reminds you to backwash approximately every two weeks. More frequent cleaning may be necessary when water flow decreases.
