Aquascape warranties cover manufacturing defects. They generally do not cover damage caused by improper use, installation, operation, or maintenance. Exact exclusions vary by product.
Common warranty exclusions include:
- Negligent handling, misuse, or misapplication
- Lack of reasonable maintenance or care
- Electrical supply problems, improper wiring, or lightning damage, where applicable
- Normal wear or parts that are expected to wear over time, such as impellers, filter media, UV bulbs, or IonGen probes, depending on the product
- Damage caused by operating a product outside its intended conditions, such as using corrosive chemicals like chlorine or bromine
- Freeze damage when products containing plumbing are not properly drained and winterized
- Labor, product removal, shipping, installation, or re-installation costs
- Incidental or consequential damages resulting from product use
Some products have additional requirements or exclusions. For example, submersible pumps must be operated completely submerged; damage caused by running a pump dry is not covered under warranty.
