Most Aquascape products use a date code rather than a serial number. Serial numbers are only used on Aquascape PL and PN Series Pumps.
The location and format of the date code varies by product.
Where to look for a date code
Depending on the product, the date code may be located:
- On the product body or housing
- On a label attached to the power cord
- On the back or underside of a controller or control panel
- On the original product packaging near the barcode or UPC
- Stamped, molded, or etched into a plastic component
For some products, you may need to remove a cover or intake screen to see the date code.
What does a date code look like?
Aquascape date codes may use different formats depending on the product. Common formats include:
-
Year/Week – such as
2020/18 - Week/Year
- Month/Year
- A molded date dial with the year in the center and an arrow pointing to the month
Where is the serial number on a PL or PN Series Pump?
Aquascape PL and PN Series Pumps use a serial number instead of the date-code identification used on most other Aquascape products.
Look for the product identification label on the pump. The serial number will be shown on that label.
Examples of date-code locations
- AquaSurge Pond Pumps: Pump body, product packaging near the barcode, or silver label on the power cord
- AquaForce Pond Pumps: Product packaging, silver power-cord label, or Smart Control Receiver when applicable
- UltraKlean Pond Filters: Product packaging or underside of the control-panel cover
- UltraKlear UV Clarifiers: Product packaging or end of the UltraKlear body
- IonGen System: Control panel near the cord entry, flow chamber, or probe packaging
- Signature Series Skimmers and BioFalls: Molded or stamped into the plastic, typically as a date dial
What if I cannot find a date code?
Some Aquascape products do not have a date code. If your product does not have one, proof of purchase may be required to determine warranty eligibility.
For the most accurate and product-specific location details, please refer to the Aquascape Product Warranty Guide, which outlines exactly where to find the date code or serial number for each product.
