The recommended pond water level is approximately 3/4 in. (1.9 cm) below the top of the skimmer's front opening. This allows water and floating debris to flow into the skimmer properly.
Signature Series 200 and 400 Pond Skimmers
The Signature Series 200 and 400 Pond Skimmers have fixed openings that cannot be adjusted.
- Maintain the pond water approximately 3/4 in. (1.9 cm) below the top of the skimmer opening.
- If the water level is low, add water to the pond.
- If an overflow is installed, keep the water level below the overflow opening.
Signature Series 1000 Pond Skimmer
The Signature Series 1000 Pond Skimmer has an adjustable opening that allows minor adjustments to accommodate the pond's water level.
To adjust the opening:
- Fill the pond to the desired water level.
- Loosen the adjustment thumbscrews inside the skimmer.
- Raise or lower the adjustable opening until its top is approximately 3/4 in. (1.9 cm) above the water surface.
- Tighten the thumbscrews to secure the opening.
Important: The adjustable opening is intended for minor adjustments. If the skimmer cannot accommodate the desired pond water level, the skimmer may have been installed at the wrong height and may need to be repositioned.
If an overflow is installed, it should be set to prevent the pond water from rising above the desired level. Avoid readjusting an overflow that has already been set, as the connection may require resealing.
