If your original Automatic Dosing System is not dispensing treatment, check the power supply, treatment level, tubing, and priming. These instructions apply to the original model with the X2 button.
If the system has no power
- Make sure the transformer is plugged into a GFCI-protected outlet.
- If the system still receives no power, the manual recommends trying a replacement transformer. The original Automatic Dosing System requires a 12 V AC outdoor-rated transformer.
If the system has power but is not dispensing
- Check the treatment level. Replace the treatment container if it is empty.
- Inspect the tubing. Make sure the internal tubing and discharge tubing are properly connected and free of kinks. Check for trapped debris and clean the tubing if needed.
- Prime the system. Hold the X2 button for 3 seconds, until the LED indicator flashes. Priming stops automatically after approximately 10 minutes. Press X2 once during priming to stop it early.
- Listen for the pump during priming. You should be able to hear it turning.
- Consider the pump cartridge. If dispensing problems continue, the cartridge may need replacement. It wears over time, and the manual recommends replacing it annually.
If the system stops during cold weather
The original Automatic Dosing System has an internal thermostat that stops the dosing pump below 40°F (4°C). Do not operate it below this temperature. Remove the system during freezing winter conditions and store it in a frost-free location.
